Remi was born and raised in a French family in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He played his first notes on trumpet with the help of a neighbor and, shortly after, began to take lessons with Alexander Serio at the Nelly Berman School where he earned a talent-based scholarship. After studying there for four years, his family then moved to New City, New York where Remi’s passion for trumpet drove him to contact Ethan Bensdorf, 2nd Trumpet of the New York Philharmonic on his own to take a lesson. Remi has studied with Ethan for over two years and, in 2016, he was accepted into The Juilliard School Pre-College Division where he now studies with Kevin Cobb.

Prior to being accepted at Juilliard Pre-College, Remi participated in the Brass Ensemble at the Westchester Conservatory where he studied with James Ranti (former Principal Trumpet of the Montreal Symphony). In 2017, Remi accepted into Curtis Summerfest where he studied with Vincent Penzarella and participated in a Masterclass with David Bilger. In 2017, Remi was also a gold prize winner of the Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow Competition which drew contestants from 5 countries and 12 US States. This culminated in a solo performance at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

In 2018, Remi was one of four trumpeters to be selected for the National Youth Orchestra of the USA. The orchestra was led by Michael Tilson Thomas, and toured Asia (Taiwan, China, and Korea) after a concert at Carnegie Hall.

Beltran currently plays and volunteers at schools teaching students how to play the trumpet. He also performs at retirement homes.
